To solidify you as the handler and rider, we intersperse riding with in hand horsemanship, horse training, Rider Fitness, games, drills, trails, horse care, and more. We often explain the WHY behind the doing so you can work toward independence as an equestrian.

Thunderhorse Hearts & Heroes offers Equine Assisted Learning and Therapy. We work with adults, children, and families including veterans and first responders. Horses are authentic beings, and is a mirror of our character and spirit. Horses and humans together, have the power to go through the fire of life and come out the other side cleansed, renewed and stronger than ever. Through the healing journey, our weaknesses can be our greatest strength.
WHY HORSES?
Horses, as a large prey animal, primarily binocular vision, a small frontal lobe and a heart 10 times size of humans, and are a highly sensitive species. The large heart provides a large electromagnetic field; aka a hug for your heart. The prey animal with binocular vision provides a hyper-sensitivity to their surroundings and emotional energy. The small frontal lobe provides an authentic experience unencumbered by human vises. They are what they are and you can’t fool them. This within a learning environment sets the horse up to be a fantastic metaphor for life experiences. We can create a story for a path to healing. And all that aside, let’s just share breath with an authentic creature that can look into our heart.

Lisa is a long time Riding Instructor and Equine Specialist.
Her calling is to help clients and horses find their inner superpower to do courageous things.
She has experience in, and practices: Riding/Horsemanship Lessons, Recreational Therapeutic Riding and Equine Assisted Therapy & Learning.
Lisa is also:
*a Reserve Officer with a part

*a Reserve Officer with a part-time Mounted Patrol Unit, training mounted police officers and mounted patrol horses.
*Competitive Endurance rider placing nationally with AERC.
She has been certified as an Equine Assisted Therapy ~ Equine Specialist since 2015, working with children, adults, veterans and first responders.
Lisa is certified with EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association)
*Peer Support Specialist for First Responders.
*Mental Health First Aid (MHFA).
*(CIT) Crisis Intervention Training.
